Johnny Rice - Cello, Strings Department Head
A native of Arizona, Johnny Rice is an accomplished performer and teacher on both cello and piano. Mr. Rice, performing in a duo with his brother, Chris, has performed throughout the United States, including in New York City (Carnegie Hall), Chicago, Los Angeles, and numerous cities and towns across the United States. Internationally, he has performed in Warsaw, as a featured artist at the 2014 World Music Day celebration, as well as in Vienna, Salzburg, Budapest, and Munich. A serious double threat, Dr. Meggie Evans brings a love for teaching and an incredible breadth of musical experience to H&S. She earned her Masters of Music Performance in Violin AND Clarinet in 2021 at the University of Denver, as well as a Suzuki Violin Pedagogy Certificate. A prizewinner in numerous competitions, Evans shows passion and fortitude in her performances. An avid performer, Luke Stikeleather is most at home on the concert stage. He has worked as a contracted player with multiple professional orchestras throughout North Carolina including the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Western Piedmont Symphonies.
