Composition 101
$660.00 per semester (or 2 payments of $330 per semester) (plus $20 materials fee)

In this 16 week course, students learn basic composition concepts in each 50-minute piano and composition combo class. Students ages 7-12 explore which elements of music notation help to create a story and express emotion. Activities include listening assignments, score analysis, conducting, studying music history, exploring historical composers and their creative process, and of course composing. Class size is small (4-5 students/class) to give students space to ask questions and allow the teacher time to work on an individual level with each student.
Class time to be announced.
Students must have access to a keyboard, digital piano, or acoustic piano for practice and assignments between each class.
