Autum Hunt

Autum Hunt has been teaching in the East Valley music community for over 33 years. She has taught at Chandler Gilbert Community College for 15 years, and was a Faculty Associate at ASU for 3 years upon graduating with her Masters in Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. A born educator, she has taught students from ages 4 to 90. 

As a youth, Hunt won numerous piano competitions and was a top 10 finalist in the Joplin, MO International Piano Competition. In 2003 she was the National Mother of the Year under the Piano/Cultural Arts Division. Through this, she was awarded the opportunity to perform in Washington DC.

Hunt studied with and under several world-renowned musicians, including Irene Peery, Gary Amano, Paul Pollei, Rayna Barroll-Azhaffenberg, Walter Cosand and Caio Pagano.

An avid collaborator, Hunt has collaborated with nationally recognized musicians for recordings and performances. She regularly works with many music studios and instrumentalists throughout the valley for various recitals and events. She is a sought-after presenter at local music workshops, and adjudicates regularly for local and regional organizations, competitions and events.

Hunt brings a comprehensive set of skills to Hammer & Strings.  She has honed her abilities and commitment in teaching, assessing, and advising students from a myriad of backgrounds and stages of life. Her people-centric nature, extensive community engagement, and collaboration with other educators and musicians over the years have afforded her excellent interpersonal and management skills. 

 Autum and her husband Dave live in Gilbert and have four children and three grandchildren.
