Anthony Tran takes first place at EVMTA

One of our youngest pianists just brought home a first-place finish, and the recording is worth two minutes of your day.

At this spring’s East Valley Music Teachers Association competition, twelve-year-old Anthony Tran took first place in his division with Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz, one of the most demanding works in the piano repertoire. He has studied at the Conservatory since he was nine.

What the judges heard

The panel singled out Anthony’s control of tempo and his ability to stay musical under pressure, exactly the qualities our recital program is built to develop.

You can teach technique in a practice room. You can only build a performer on a stage.

Why it matters for every student

Most of our students will not become professional musicians, and that is the point. The discipline that earns a medal is the same discipline that shows up everywhere else.

  • Twice-a-semester full recitals on the Recital Hall stage
  • Quarterly studio recitals in a lower-pressure setting
  • Masterclasses each semester with visiting guest artists

Every new student begins with a free 30-minute consultation. No pressure, just a conversation about where your musician wants to go.
