Chamber music is art music composed for a small group of musicians, such as a group with one violinist, one violist, and one cellist, written with a unique interplay of parts. Traditionally, chamber groups performed in a palace chamber, a residential parlor, or any small room.
Interested students register to be placed in a group with other musicians. Duos, trios, quartets, and quintets are all welcome.
Once assigned to a chamber group, each group chooses a rehearsal time that works for all of its members and a coach.
Step 1. Online registration for Chamber Groups is currently disabled. Email admin@hammerandstrings.com and the office will get you registered.
Step 2. Prepare, record, and submit your audition video.
Please submit a video of the student performing both of the following:
Set up your camera, which can be a phone or any other device that records both audio and video, so that your instrument, hands, and general posture can be seen and you can be heard clearly.
Watch for a confirmation email that your video has been received, and do not delete your video from YouTube until after you have been notified of your audition results.
Audition video deadlines are announced each semester. Email the office for the current date.
