Melodie Gardner is a highly sought-after violin instructor.  She is a master-class, technique and group teacher at the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute, has taught at the Suzuki Association of Washington Festival as well as being a guest clinician for school orchestras.  She is the Founder and Director of Brilliante Strings, a service-based performing group that will tour Africa in 2020 and she mentors the Salt Lake City group “Vivace” which toured China in 2019. Melodie is passionate about inspiring students to achieve excellence beyond what they believe is possible.

Known to her students as “Miss Melodie”, Ms. Gardner has maintained a thriving private studio for over 20 years in Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Gilbert as well as teaching a music-based preschool starting in 2017.  Melodie’s students have won awards including Sterling Scholar, Phoenix Youth Orchestra Young Musicians Competition Winner, 1st Place in the Simon-Fizet Junior Division Strings Competition, placement in the Arizona Allstate Music Orchestra, as well as performing in Carnegie Hall and receiving scholarships to several distinguished universities.

Ms. Gardner received her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Utah.  She is Suzuki Teacher Certified in all Suzuki books, Suzuki Principles in Action, and Solos for Young Violinists.  She was a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square for 13 years where she performed and recorded with guest artists such as David Archuleta, The King’s Singers, and Angela Lansbury.  She has also personally performed with Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys and Youtube sensation Claire Ryann. As a violinist, Melodie has played under the baton of John Williams, Igor Gruppman, and Fabio Pirola.  Her mentors include Gerald Elias, Debbie Moench, and Mikhail Boguslavsky.

Melodie lives in Gilbert, Arizona with her husband Josh and seven children.  In her spare time she enjoys playing Bananagrams and having cookies n’ cream ice cream with her kids.
